
Mega City will be developed as a unique, self sustaining multi cluster destination that will comprise of a themed mixed use development involving residential, office, hospitality and retail in addition to international standard social clusters such as healthcare, education and entertainment. This development will symbolize the true essence of ‘live, work and play’ concept at one location. Mega City development with its strategic location, ample green spaces and holistic environment is envisioned to become the economic engine and lifestyle benchmark of Navi Mumbai.
The Mega City India site is located in the Panvel region of Navi Mumbai and comprises of three connected land parcels measuring approximately 1600 acres in total land area. Mega City will be largely a freehold development that will be granted a Special Planning Authority (SPA) which would significantly facilitate regulatory and administrative procedures for its partner sub-developers. Energy City, Mittic & Entertainment City will be the three main districts of Mega City India and will be developed on three adjoining land parcels measuring 711, 473 & 480 acres respectively. Energy City is proposed to be developed as a mixed use project featuring a major commercial hub catering for the Energy sector as well as other major business sectors. Mittic is conceived as a mixed use development featuring a major business park catering primarily for the IT and IT Enabled Services businesses. Entertainment City is planned to act as an anchor development and will be attracting the dynamic entertainment sector of the region with its studios and themed malls/ parks.
The Mega City plot has inherent locational advantages on account of its position in the overall roadway network of the region. To the south of the site lies an extensive network of roads and railway lines including the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the National Highways NH4C to Hyderabad, Chennai & Bangalore and the NH17 to Goa. Two railway stations namely Chikale and Mohape, are located south of the site and are positioned 5 Kms from each other.
The Mega City site is also in close proximity to both airports and the seaport, the CSI airport is approximately 35 kms away, and the proposed new International Airport will only be a short 12 kms drive from the Mega City site. JNPT, India’s largest and most modern seaport is located approximately 22 kms to the west of the site.
Based on preliminary site studies, the site is planned to be developed as a best in class mixed use development targeting a mid to high end customer segment according to the relevant standards of Navi Mumbai. Residential areas will be provided with the full complement of services (shopping, health care, education & security) to provide for the day to day needs of residents and guests. The development with its Live, Work & Play environment, ample green spaces and entertainment centre’s is expected to set benchmarks for all future developments in the region. Mega City is a US$ 10 Billion project.
